Library Services

We currently contract for library service with the Dunkerton Public Library.

Available online resources:

  • Brainfuse - JobNow offers on career assistance,  VetNow supports veterans and their families, HelpNow is a live online tutoring service, and the Adult Learning Center provides academic assistance.
  • Bridges/Libby - online audiobooks, eBooks, and magazines.
  • Hoopla - online audiobooks, eBooks, movies, TV shows, and craft tutorials available with no waiting! Each patron can checkout 10 items per month.
  • Transparent Languages – Choose from over 100 languages to learn through listening, speaking, reading and writing activities.

Programs:
Many in-person events are offered such as story time, book club, outdoor movies, DIY crafts, and the summer reading program, which is provided for all ages. Watch Facebook and the website for details.


Services:
The library carries over 15,000 items available for checkout, which include audio books, magazines, DVDs, STEM backpacks, puzzles, fiction books (including large print), inspirational fiction, non-fiction, biographies, young adult, picture books, and board books. Items can be reserved online and picked up in the lobby during library hours. Any item the library does not have may be requested through the Iowa Interlibrary Loan program at no charge.

Photocopy service and printing is available, single sided at $0.10 for black & white and $0.25 for color. The fax service is $2.00 total per fax. A proctoring service is available at no charge.
The library has 6 computers available with internet access and word processing, as well as 3laptops, 4 iPads, and an AWE station. Free wi-fi is available, 24/7 – use the password: Welcome2TheLibrary

 

A program room is available for public use. 

An after-hours drop box is available for your convenience by the front door.

The Dunkerton Public Library Board of Trustees and staff strive to provide the patrons access to materials and services for information, continuing education, leisure activities, and pleasure reading. The Dunkerton Public Library will serve as a window to the entire information world.
